Dr. Teri Gee was born and raised in Idaho. She received her bachelor's degree in History Education with a minor in Physics Education from Utah State University. After that, she attended the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, receiving her master's and Ph.D. in the history of science, focusing on the history of astronomy. During that time, she taught courses on the history of science, with special emphasis on the flow of ideas between cultures, particularly astronomical concepts. In 2012, she began teaching for the Physics department at Brigham Young University - Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, returning to her home state. She taught a number of courses there over the next 10 years, first as an adjunct and then as a visiting faculty. She was hired as the director of the Barlow Planetarium and began working in August of 2022.
